This procedure is intended to provide assistance in the overall fight against dental disease when applied toward pets who have been cleared of any existing dental disease. It costs $190 cash for a dog up to 74 pounds and $220 cash for a dog 75 to 99 pounds. We accept cash, debit, check, and Zelle. There is a $5 fee to pay with a credit card.
Smaller dogs are wrapped in a towel, and larger dogs lay in the hygienist's lap. All teeth are hand-scaled and polished.
There are four grades to dental disease. DDAZ cleans grade 1 and 2. If your dog has loose teeth, they will require an anesthetic dental to extract those teeth. We can maintain your dog's dental health after the loose teeth have been extracted.
Note: If your dog is aggressive, "nips" or bites, for obvious reasons, we can't clean them.
If we don't clean your dog's teeth, there's no charge.
No. If your dog sees, hears, or even smells you, he usually wants to get up to be with you. While your dog is in the procedure room, we are also gathering vitals, consulting on each tooth, and charting; having someone else in the room is distracting and can also be unsafe.
Typically, smaller dogs should have their teeth cleaned every 6-9 months, while larger dogs' teeth should be cleaned annually. When you see visible tartar, that's the time to get a cleaning.
No. We only clean the teeth of dogs up to 99 pounds.
Right now, we book a few months in advance, so we suggest you book your appointment now. You are automatically placed on the cancellation list after making that appointment. As we get cancellations, we will text you to move your appointment up. It's not uncommon to move you up by two to six months.

If you want to get in sooner, yes. Then when you book your follow-up appointment, schedule it for the location that works best. Usually, it's the first appointment that's a little hard to get into, but once your first appointment is done, we can schedule your dog regularly and at a location that's near you.
We'll get you in and out in 30 minutes. We do ask that you stay nearby, just in case we have questions or concerns.
When you come into the clinic, you will fill out a one-page questionnaire. It's very, very important that you document any and all health information. We handle some health concerns differently. For example, a heart murmur is handled differently than a collapsing trachea.
If you reschedule or cancel within 48 hours, it's very difficult for us to fill that spot. It's not fair to the dental team or to our other clients. This policy also keeps our costs affordable. We absolutely adhere to this policy. If you cancel within 48 hours, your next appointment will require a credit card number to reserve your spot. There is a $40 deposit required.
Yes. Make sure you leave your name and phone number. It's amazing how many folks don't do that. We can't help if we don't know who you are and how to get in touch. We usually text a reply.
Doggie Dental AZ is licensed and inspected by the State of Arizona Veterinarian Board, and we follow all health protocols. Each clinic is supervised by a licensed veterinarian who oversees each individual cleaning along with the hygienist. This is an exclusive, one-on-one service: One dog, one vet, one hygienist. We believe this to be the safest way to offer this kind of service. All hand tools are sterilized and are not reused for other dogs. Latex gloves are worn and discarded after each cleaning.
